I've been spending a bit of time catching up on some pictures for my other blog. It's fun to post snap shots of happy moments with my kids and it reminds me how worth all the hard work is that comes with being a mom!

It makes me proud and I feel like saying....

I am so blessed to have such great men and fathers in my life!!

The Pride of India!

I am so excited for my two little friends! Today and yesterday I went to watch Arub and Lamis compete in the schools Spelling Bee.

Arub just turned 9 and is in the forth grade. Yesterday she competed against all the 10, 11 and 12 year olds and took FIRST PLACE! Yay! Arub!

Lamis is in my daughter's kindergarten class and today she was the only 5yr old competing against all the 6, 7, 8, and 9 yr. olds. She took THIRD PLACE! She was amazing!
I'm so proud of my little friends! I made them some cookies to celebrate.
In this picture Arub is the one on the bottom left and Lamis is next to her in the yellow shirt. Aren't they just beautiful girls! I call them my little princesses.

This picture includes my very good friend, Meher. She is Lamis and Arub's mother. I just love her! She is such an awesome person! She is such a good example to me. I just love her!

This is Lamis and Arub's father, Mujahead, and grandpa, Muhammed. I miss their grandfather, he flew back to India in February. He was so kind to us and is just a wonderful man.

This whole family is the pride of India. I have just fallen in love with the Country because of them. Now if I had the opportunity to go anywhere in the world... anywhere... it would be INDIA!

Me Wearing a Sari

We have some neighbors who are from India. We have become good friends. They are such a wonderful family!! They invited us over for dinner last night. It was deeelicious!! mmm! mmm! Indian food is now my new favorite. My friend, Meher, gave me one of her Sari's as a token of our friendship. I think Sari's are so incredibly beautiful, I was thrilled to receive it! Meher's family practices Islam. I wish the news media would show how wonderful REAL Muslims are. It seems that only the extreemists are the ones that ever make the news... it's sad because these people are not like that. I have never met a family more warm, more kind, and more comfortable to be around... they would never in a million years hurt anyone!!! If I wasn't such an albino you might mistake me for part of their family when I am with them because of how well I am treated. They are such a blessing to us and to our community.

Bring on the Jr. Leagues

We started my son on a Jr. basketball team. We thought he could use a positive way to release some of his ENERGY!! Plus, I think it does alot to help build his self confidence. He's a great kid and it was so fun to see him play.

Two of my other kids were getting bored of the game. They wanted to be in it, not watch it! I gave my daughter paper to draw on to keep herself busy (I think it's a picture of a bird?... muscle man?...no it couldn't be a muscle man.... hmmm.... a plane?... oh well it kept her busy anyway.) In the background you can see my son trying to entertain himself by rocking himself in his little sisters car seat... (the baby isn't in it of course) doesn't take much to entertain my kids!! gotta love them.

A little "action" shot. I love how these Jr. leagues are more like a free-for-all.

This picture is proof that putting your kids in sports and having the family there to cheer them on helps build confidence. Look at that proud smile on my sons face.

The Month in Pictures

Look at that chubby girl! She's so fun. She loves the bath.

My kids love to dress up. Here is my kindergartner pretending to be a .... hmm... I think she's pretending to be a robot / ballerina? hmmm not quite sure but she's fun to watch.

My son bought this fire fighter's helmet and axe at a yard sell with his own money. He was excited to model for me. Nice action pose eh?

More dress up fun. I just love the glasses my little boy is sporting... he's sure to get all the ladies!

My little boy loves our neighbor girl. All my kids love her. She is so adorable, who wouldn't? Her name is Yarro (it's Mongolian - you flip the "r"). My kids couldn't say her name too well so they would call her Yatto... and now they've evolved her name to Yatto-bot... you know like "autobot" except with a "y". Funny thing is their little "nickname" for her has caught on with all the other kids in the apt. complex.

First thing in the morning all the kids want to hold the baby. She's the center of attention.

My oldest really does a great job with his little sister.

My youngest boy just giggles every time he sees her. Giggles... and giggles... I really get a kick out of watching him interact with her. He's a very proud big brother.

Here is a very loving daddy. It's hard for him to be away so much with full time work and full time school.... so he soaks up every bit of free time he can with the kids.

Sunday afternoon. Just showing off my baby. Who can resist such an adorable girl? She really is just as sweet as she looks.

My little Kindergartner's first day of school.... I don't think she's too sure if she likes it or not... she looks like she's trying really hard to convince herself that she does.

My oldest lost his second tooth. He's pretty proud. His adult tooth grew in behind his baby one so he was happy to finally lose it. I hardly ever get a serious face out of this kid. Never a dull moment.

My little boy has learned how to make himself some toast. He is very careful not to burn himself when it pops out of the toaster and insists on wearing an oven mitt. Ahhh he is so dang cute!!

Speaking of cute... this is my baby in her bathing suit. This is just too adorable for words. Man I love being a mom!!

Eating out.... on the porch...of the apartment.... with a nice view of the parking lot. My kids can make anything fun.

Ice Cold Fruit Drink

This is my kids first little "lemonade stand" ... except they wanted to sell punch instead of lemonade, but "ice cold punch" didn't sound as good... so they called it "ice cold fruit drink." (nice marketing eh?) My 3yr. old (on the right) helped by getting the drink out of the cooler for each person.

They were so much fun to watch.

My oldest is the one who "headed up" the project. He made all the signs. He also insisted that he wear superman gloves and have a book to read while he waited for customers. The book he checked out was "The Power of the Word." He's not really reading it but look at how convincing he makes it. It cracks me up!!!


Now my daughter is pretending to be interested in the book with no pictures and really big words. And my son is searching for his next victim... er... I mean customer.

Another satisfied customer. My daughter has filled her cup to overflowing... now that's getting your money's worth!!

Kids, Kids, Kids

I love having a new little innocent baby in the home. My feelings are mixed today with extreeme joy and extreeme frustration. Joy because of this new tiny infant in my arms.... and frustration because my 3 older children all have an attitude today, and they are driving me crazy! Sometimes I wish I could zap them back to the sweet little innocent babies they once were.... I've had to send them all outside because they are climbing up the walls. Sigh! I love them so much that it hurts to be so irritated with them.

A Happy Mother's Day

Ok I'm going to claim my bragging rights!!!

I've had a great Mother's day! My husband let me sleep in, made me breakfast, gave me a dozen roses, took care of the kids and made me dinner too! He's awesome! My kids all gave me something they made at school... cute, cute stuff. Sunday services were excellent too...Each speaker talked about either their mother or wife or how women in general have blessed their lives.

My husband also gave me a new Jack Johnson CD. I'm really excited about that. I put a few songs on my blog from his album so you can take a listen. Enjoy!

These "little piggies" are too cute!!

My kids were all huddled in the bathroom trying to get warm by the heater. I looked down at their cute little feet and couldn't resist this picture. Sometimes my camera is the only way for me to capture the fun little things I love about having children.

This is my princess with all her little princess friends. Mine is the one wearing the crown. She loves to dress up 20 times a day.

I think this picture is so funny. My oldest, son has been learning about Ancient Egypt in school. He is modeling the Pharaoh's mask and the sarcophagus he made in class. But notice the way he is standing.... each time we tried to get him to pose for us, he kept putting his feet sideways... in fact, he insisted that they be sideways.... then we realized he was mimicking the way he has seen the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics's.... their feet are always sideways. What an observant little boy!
